App Store?
We had overwhelming hits on our previous post, There’s an App for That (Scuba Version) on the Blog Action Day. We thought it was great way to share what we gathered in one place. Up and coming website, Appboy.com allows us to do that. We favorited and put a lot of Scuba Diving and Ocean Related mobile apps that may be of your interest on our AppBoy profile. You can directly purchase apps from DivingList’s profile.

The mobile platforms that they are currently supporting are iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and Palm Pre. And we included them all.

Blog Action Day: Climate Change

We took some time off in preparation for tomorrow — Blog Action Day. We don’t know how many people are aware of this program, but it is an annual event that all the bloggers in the whole wide world post an entry about the same topic on their own blog on the same day — sponsored by Change.org and hundreds of partners.

This year’s topic is “Climate Change.” DivingList will be posting “something” interesting for readers some time tomorrow. (can’t tell you when, okay?)

To support this good cause and to raise the awareness, we also would like to ask you for help. If you have your own blog, please register it at http://blogactionday.org/ and post an entry on Climate Change tomorrow.

Flipilicious.com — We Flip You Over.

A couple of weeks ago, we have had an opportunity to participate in Beta testing of this new website, Flipilicious.com. We were asked to participate as they were looking for some “deals” to offer for us, Divers. So we went along.

Flipilicious.com offers you overstocked sports items with unbeatable prices. If you like it, good. If you don’t, let’s eBay. Interesting thing about Flipilicious.com is to be able to earn points and convert it to voucher for you to use at a later date. If you invite your friends to be a part of Flip, you also get a voucher. Holiday season is near, so this would be a great help for all bubble-makers out there. And they will ship internationally.

Because we were heavily involved in the testing, they did us a big favor and their Beta launching product will be a SCUBA item. Rumor has it, it may be the Spring Straps from Innovative Scuba, which fit on most of the fins (which by the way is a fab product…). The suggested retail price for these fin straps is anywhere from $55 to $60 (USD).

The only problem is… we don’t know WHAT TIME it’s going to launch this evening. We were told that it’s a part of the game and we must “guess”-timate the time of their launch!!! We assigned one of our team members for checking the launch of Flipilicious.com from 6PM EST this evening on so that we can announce the launch over Facebook, Twitter, and Friendfeed.

We are also in the middle of negotiation with Flipilicious to see if we can get a discount for DivingList readers. It may come, it may not… we cannot promise. But we’ll be sure to let you know if it happens.

Florida Keys History of Diving Museum is celebrating their 3rd birthday (anniversary) this coming September. On September 19, 2009, they are offering 50% off admission fee whole day. Not only that, kids under 12 get in FREE!
